BCPS Celebrates a Successful Start to the 2025/26 School Year

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) welcomed students, families and staff back to campuses across the District today, Monday, August 11, 2025, kicking off a smooth and exciting start to the 2025/26 school year.

BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn kicked off the day by visiting several schools across the District, joined by School Board members, District administrators and local and state elected officials. At each stop, they greeted students, parents, teachers and staff, celebrating the energy and optimism of a new school year.

“This first day was filled with smiles, high-fives, and a renewed commitment to student success,” Dr. Hepburn said. “We are ready to provide our students with exceptional learning experiences and support throughout the year. Thanks to our families, educational leaders, teachers, staff and community partners for making the first day of school a positive experience for students across our District.”

Today’s visits showcased a variety of BCPS programs and initiatives, including AI-infused literary activities, innovative labs, magnet programs, performing arts and hands-on learning opportunities, highlighting the District’s commitment to offering diverse and innovative educational pathways.

The day also marked a special day for kindergarten students as they began their educational journey as part of the BCPS Class of 2038.

Following the school visits, a news conference was held to share highlights of the first day and the successful launch of the new school year.
